Anytime the crane is moved or repositioned — even slightly — you must reassess its stability.
Why It Matters:
Shifting the crane’s position changes the center of gravity, ground pressure, and lift dynamics. Failing to recheck can lead to tipping, structural strain, or dropped loads.
Key Points:
- Re-level the crane after any movement, even small adjustments.
- Inspect all outriggers and cribbing — movement may cause settling or shifting.
- Recalculate the load chart for the new setup position and angle.
- Assign a spotter to confirm ground conditions remain stable.
✅ New position = new risk. Always reassess.
Ask the Crew:
- Did we stop to recheck everything after the last move?
- Are our outriggers still on firm, level ground?
- Is the new lift radius within capacity?
