Every piece of rigging hardware must be clearly marked with its Working Load Limit (WLL) — and you need to understand it.
Why It Matters:
If you don’t know the limit, you can’t prevent overload. Even high-quality hardware can fail if pushed beyond capacity.
Key Points:
- WLL must be legible and appropriate for the load and configuration.
- Ratings change based on angle, hitch type, and sling configuration.
- Never use hardware if the markings are worn off or unclear.
- ✅ Load limits aren’t suggestions — they’re the law.
Ask the Crew:
- Can we clearly read the WLL on everything we’re using?
- Are we calculating load angles correctly?
