Slippery floors from oil, grease, water, or chemicals are one of the leading causes of slips and falls in the construction industry. Delaying cleanup — even for a minute — puts every worker at risk, especially in high-traffic areas.

Key Points:

• Stop and clean up spills as soon as they happen — don’t wait.
• Use appropriate absorbents (e.g., pads, granules) based on the substance.
• Post warning signs or barricades until the area is fully dry.
• Report recurring leaks or equipment issues causing the spill.
